The big man in red it due in a few hours

I'm sitting here watching Carol's by Candlelight live from the Sydney Myer Music Bowl right here in Melbourne.

What wonderful voices our wonderful city has.  I do all I can to watch this every year and I keep saying that one year I will go in to hear it in person.

I have done some finishing

Photo's to come later today for Eleanor Wall Hanging, Christmas Wall Hanging as well as a pillow.  All of these are christmas gifts.  And I am pretty pleased with how they have all turned out. 

Right now I am waiting for some better light.

Eleanor is Finished

Well almost.  The stitching is done now I need to make her into a banner.  She will be hung on my niece's bedroom door and is her Christmas present this year.  Eleanor is the letter E from the Letters from Nora range of charts.

I am wondering if I will have to do a B and a K for next year for Emalee's sisters.

For Christmas

Today I put together a Table Runner for my mum for Christmas along with a quilted wall hanging for my sister's mother in law, Wyn.  I am getting ready early this year.  I still need to finish Miss Emalee's fairy and I have a cushion to put together for my sisters sister in law, Mandy.  Everyone loves what I do but -one has ever received anything handmade by me before.  I just know they are going to love them.

The table runner is 93 1/2 inches long.  There are 6 of the white panels with 5 red circles.  It will really suit her modern decor.

Lizzie Kate's Boo Club is all finsihed

And I am pretty pleased with the result.  This is my 3rd cross stitch finish in 2 years.  Next to be finished will be Letters from Nora's "E" for my neice for christmas which will also be a banner.  And now that Boo Club is finished I am going to start Sweet Treats, our Fab 4 project for our next get together weekend in June 2012.

All Cooped Up

I spent the weekend working on putting the quilt top together only to find that I didn't have quite enough of the outside border with the size I chose to use and the fact that I decided the wood grain needed to go in the one direction.  Now I have to find something else or order a full yard from the US.  I will see what I can find before deciding.  This is how it looks right now.

I still can't decide whether to use the check or go with straight colours.  I even though of using peepers with the checks...

Just not sure...

Block 10

A little bit of this block and a little bit of that block and I have come up with my own design to go into my All Cooped Up quilt.   I am using Which Came First as the main central block so needed 10 smaller blocks to surround it but All Cooped Up only had 9 blocks. 

Just Nan Christmas Stocking

I didn't get this finished at the fab 4 weekend away but I did get it all done today.  Mine is a little different to the other 3.  I didn't use the gingerbread coloured fabric that came in the kit but swapped it out for a very pretty piece of Stitches and Spice called Jacaranda Haze.  The fabric you see it sitting against is what I have used for the lining.  And don't you just love the little gingerbread counting pin?

This is also my first cross stitch finish in such a long time.

This is us

We had such a great time for our weekend together.  Left to right - Me, Helen, Lee-Ann & Coral and not forgetting our best little buddy Milo.  Too much food, but who cares, lots of fantastic converstation and more laughs than can ever be imagined.  Put us 4 together and the time passes far to quickly.

A fantastic time so far..

Another day to go and tonight we introduced our bestest buddy Lee-Ann to the wonders of Indian food.  Mmmmmmm

A weekend away with the Fab 4

We are staying with Lee-Ann and can't wait.  See you tomorrow and we promise to only talk about the weather in the car ride across.

Hearts & Stars - Bright Version

This is the quilt I have made for my daughters friend.  The baby is due in the next few weeks.  It was so much fun to do in brights.  My first quilt was this very same one but done in pastels.

Boo Club Progress

This is the last pic of the progress I am making with our Boo Club Stitch-a-long. I am further along than this now as I have finished down to Fright.  It such a cute design and I think I will make it into a banner.

My first blog post

Well it has taken me so very long to even think about creating a blog. I will use it to share some of my photos and some of my stitching and quilting.
