But Noah was born on June 3rd and this quilt was still not finished. I did have the top completed but had to put it together.

Noah is the first grandchild for my wonderful friend Helen and I don't think I am at all biased in saying that he is just gorgeous. The other 2 of the Fab 4 mums think the same.

This is such a simple top to make but is so effective. I have quilted it in the ditch every second row and the down rows is swirls, hearts & stars.

And of course what quilt is complete without a label...

This is number 2 of the 1600 quilt that I have finished and there is another top ready to be sandwiched and quilted. Hmmm... wonder if I can really get that finished before it's really needed... Only time will tell. I think I have a weekend somewhere between now and when I need to have it finished.xstlisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08348789962682874625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833795879870190516.post-47941167860434613392012-03-25T18:04:00.000+11:002012-03-25T18:04:59.188+11:00Sweet TreatsWell it's almost finished. I will be adding the scattered stitches as a frosted blue bead (have to find some because there are none here in my bead collection) then there are the buttons. I will add these at our Fab 4 GTG in August. I have done my version as a banner on Stitches and Spice Arabian Nights while the girls have done theirs as charted on a beautiful Stitches and Spice fabric called Butter Creame. Hopefully the individual blocks come out okay. They have previewed huge and if they stay that way I am sorry.
YAY

Sitting here watching Australia vs Spain - Hewitt vs Verdasco. Lleyton is doing really well considering he is playing injured (what's new these days, he's getting closer to retiring but doing our country proud). We had a win in the ladies so it looks like it will come down to the doubles. Not going to make it that long up tonight.

I am now working on 2 cross stitch projects - I have a sample piece of fabric from Stitches and Spice to play with and I am doing one of the 6 Fat Men by Lizzie Kate and tonight I started my Fab 4 Stitch-Along, Sweet Treats by Country Cottage Needleworks.

I hope 2012 brings all that you wish it will.xstlisshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08348789962682874625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833795879870190516.post-10592399944295337532011-12-24T22:33:00.000+11:002011-12-24T22:33:58.889+11:00That Special Family Day is nearly hereThe big man in red it due in a few hours
Eleanor is the letter E from the Letters from Nora range of charts.
I am getting ready early this year. I still need to finish Miss Emalee's fairy and I have a cushion to put together for my sisters sister in law, Mandy. Everyone loves what I do but -one has ever received anything handmade by me before. I just know they are going to love them.
Now I have to find something else or order a full yard from the US. I will see what I can find before deciding. This is how it looks right now.
Mine is a little different to the other 3. I didn't use the gingerbread coloured fabric that came in the kit but swapped it out for a very pretty piece of Stitches and Spice called Jacaranda Haze. The fabric you see it sitting against is what I have used for the lining. And don't you just love the little gingerbread counting pin?
